We are pleased to announce that Dr Guy Bewick has joined the Euan MacDonald Centre as a new Principal Investigator.
Dr Bewick is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Aberdeen. His lab investigates how appropriate nerve-muscle connections are made and maintained. He uses live nerve imaging, electrical recording, pharmacology, molecular biology and animal models to examine how chemical release from motor nerve endings is maintained during changes in use during development, day-to-day activity and disease. He is particularly interested in understanding natural feedback systems and how they help to sustain nerve-muscle chemical signalling. Ultimately, Dr Bewick aims to target these systems to enhance nerve-muscle signalling in neuromuscular disease.
