Euan MacDonald Centre featured in MND patient care handbook

ALS Worldwide patient care handbook_coverALS Worldwide have just published a handbook entitled “A paradigm shift in ALS/MNS clinic care: best practices from the patient perspective”

This is a report written by Stephen and Barbara Byer, a US couple who founded ALS Worldwide ( They visited the Euan MacDonald Centre for MND Research and Anne Rowling Regenerative Neurology Clinic in June 2013, whilst they were undertaking an international review of ALS/MND clinics and hospitals to provide the patient community with an opportunity to see what “other” clinics are doing and to know what to request of their own practitioners.

The Byers were very impressed with the Centres when they visited and particular mention goes to our integration of neuroscience research with clinics, the voice-bank project and the Edinburgh Cognitive and Behavioural ALS Screen, and the well thought out patient-care facilities.

We encourage patients to download this free informative document as it provides an international perspective on both the positive and negative aspects of MND care.
