The Voicebank project aims to build personalised synthetic voices for people to use in communication aids when speech becomes difficult.
We need accents from a number of regions to strengthen the project. These include: Shetland, Western Isles, Orkney, Highlands, Grampian, Perth & Kinross, Tayside, Stirlingshire, Fife, Borders, Dumfries & Galloway.
Recordings take place at the Anne Rowling Regenerative Neurology Clinic next to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, Little France and take just over an hour.
Donors must be: 16yrs+, native English speakers and have no speech or reading difficulties.
