A postdoctoral position is available working with Prof Tom Gillingwater and Prof Peter Brophy on a project concerned with understanding disease mechanisms underlying spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). A background in neurodegeneration research would be desirable, through not essential, and applicants are expected to have a PhD or MD degree and relevant academic publications, as well as experience of morphological techniques and molecular biology. The fixed-term position is available from 1 October 2011 and is funded initially for one year, with likely extension for an additional two years.
