You can also set up an online giving page through the University of Edinburgh’s JustGiving page.

As all funds are administered by the University of Edinburgh Development Trust, the branding for the Just Giving page is the University crest. If you would like to personalise your page you can download the Euan MacDonald Centre logo [JPG, 145kb].

Also, we have some suggested wording below that you are welcome to copy:

In 2003 Euan MacDonald was diagnosed with motor neurone disease (MND), a debilitating disease that generally strikes at random in middle age. It leads to muscle weakness and ultimately paralysis, and is usually fatal within a few years. Despite being given a devastating prognosis of surviving anything between six months and a few years, Euan remained positive.

Euan and his father made a far-sighted and substantial donation that led to the establishment of the Euan MacDonald Centre for Motor Neurone Disease Research at the University of Edinburgh. The Centre boasts a multi-disciplinary group of around 30 researchers across Scotland that forms part of a worldwide effort to find a cure for neurodegenerative diseases. The mission of the Centre is to make a positive difference to the lives of patients with MND through laboratory and clinical research.

Your donation will directly help the Centre’s researchers better understand the causes of this debilitating condition and ultimately, help them slow down, stop or even reverse this devastating disease.
