Two New EMC Graduate Studentships
We are delighted to announce a jointly funded collaborative PhD studentship between the Euan MacDonald Centre for Motor Neurone Disease Research (EMC) and the Centre for Cognitive Ageing and Cognitive Epidemiology (CCACE). The three year studentship is concerned with studying how fast information is processed in patients with MND and how this relates to different brain structures. Mr Lewis Pettit, will be supervised by Dr Sharon Abrahams (principal supervisor) and Dr Mark Bastin (second supervisor) and will be based in the University's Psychology department.
MND Scotland have also awarded a prestigious 3 year PhD studentship to Dr Catherina Becker that will support Mr. Jochen Ohnmacht, to undertake a project that models motor nerve death and regeneration in a zebra-fish model of MND. This project will be based at the Euan MacDonald Centre at Chancellor's Building, Little France.
