For £50 we'll fill your brain with stem cells! Edinburgh Stem Cell School, 5-6 May 2011
Jan 2011
They're constantly in the news—promises of cures, the ability to grow new organs, even the reversal of ageing. Now some of the UK's leading regenerative medicine experts will focus on the hopes and the hypes of therapeutic applications of stem cells. Which promises are overblown? How close are today's researchers to finding tomorrow's cures? How will this technology impact on future medical care?
Whether you are just beginning your medical training or are an experienced clinician interested in doing biomedical research, Edinburgh Stem Cell School will offer an exciting programme of clinically-focussed lectures and discussion.
Speakers at this two-day event will include cloning pioneer Professor Sir Ian Wilmut and Professor Anthony Hollander, who performed the first trachea transplant using tissue grown with a patient's own stem cells.
With registration priced at only £50 for the first 50 participants, we are expecting places to go quickly.
