Leanne’s brave dive for Euan MacDonald Centre

Courageous Leanne Barclay took to the skies on 2nd November 2008, all in aid of The Euan MacDonald Centre.  Leanne and her aunt, Helen, decided to do a sponsored skydive to raise money for the Centre after Leanne's father died in January of this year, having contracted MND six years ago.  She said:

“I am interested in the research side of things as was my Dad. He was keen to learn of any new updates and he always said a cure would never happen in his time but hopefully one would be discovered to help others in the future.”

With some counting still to do, Leanne has almost reached her fundraising target of £10,000.  Of the experience she said, "I personally enjoyed every minute of the day, from arrival until when we left, and, bizarrely, no fear!"

Leanne’s mother, Lindsay, also organised a golf day to raise money for the Euan MacDonald Centre.  The event, on 20th June 2008, took place at Ballater Golf Club and included a game of Texas Scramble as well as silent auctions for lots including a day of golfing at the Royal Balmoral Estate, a signed Liverpool FC shirt, a signed lithograph by the Prince of Wales, and a two-week stay in the Highlands.
