The First Minister visits the Euan MacDonald Centre

November 2011

Alex Salmond, the First Minister of Scotland, visited the EMC in late October. He was welcomed by Prof Siddharthan Chandran, Director of the EMC, and Prof Sir Timothy O'Shea, Principal of the University, and met members of the MacDonald family. After Prof Chandran had given him an overview of the clinical and scientific research being undertaken within the Centre, Mr Salmond toured the research labs, meeting clinicians and scientists and learning about their research. The First Minister said that he was very impressed by all the work he had seen going on in the Centre, and took a special interest in the voice banking project.
