Euan MacDonald Centre (Chancellor’s Building, Little France)

Imaging suite:

  • Zeiss LSM 710 confocal
  • Zeiss fluorescent axio scope (capable of triple staining + far red (647)
  • inverted fluorescent microscope with a CO2 chamber and heated stage

Human embryonic stem cell room:

  • Three class II cabinets and six CO2 incubators, one of which runs as a hypoxic incubator with 3% O2

Primary cell culture room:

  • Six CO2 incubators and three class II hoods.
  • Hood with light microscope

Biomedical Research Facilities (Chancellor’s Building, Little France)

A full barrier facility offering sterile surgery suites, microinjection, embryo rederivation, stem cell culture, electrophysiology, optical imaging, ultrasound and a 7.5T MRI. An in-house unit for genotyping, rederivation and transgenesis, and a cryopreservation library banking service for embryos and sperm is also well-established.

Clinical Research Imaging Centre (CRIC; Queen’s Medical Research Institute, Little France)

  • 3T whole-body magnetic resonance imaging scanner (3T MRI)
  • Computed Tomography scanner (CT)
  • Positron emission and computed tomography scanner (PET/CT)
  • Cyclotron (capacity to generate novel tracer compounds)
